<!--Sun damage is cumulative so do not go outside without applying sun block or a lotion that offers sun protection.

<!--Vitamin C is not only good for your immune system, it is also good for your skin. If you would like to keep your skin young, taking vitamin C everyday is a good idea. This vitamin also helps in increasing collagen production in the body. Collagen is an important component in keeping the skin young and wrinkle-free.

<!--Eating dark chocolate is a good thing since dark chocolate is an antioxidant and is a natural anti-aging product.

<!--Get enough protein. Incorporating protein into your diet will improve the production of collagen. Protein also provides energy to the body and is the main building block of muscles making it an important component to your diet.

<!--Hydrate. Drink lots of water on a daily basis. This is a great way to detoxify plus water keeps certain bodily functions running smoothly which means you will become healthier than before. You being healthy will add a glow to your skin –now that’s one good reason to ditch the soda and drink more water!

<!--Mist before you moisturize. Skin care experts keep telling us to moisturize but why is it that when we moisturize we still have to put some more after a while? Whenever you moisturize, you should have a bit of water on your skin to lock in the moisture. You can also get a mister for your face. There are mists that contain vitamin E and emollients. These ingredients are great for the skin.

<!--Condition your skin. Jasmine extract is one of the best skin conditioners around and since this soothing oil is rich in antioxidants, it is a good choice for those who lack antioxidants in their body. If you have an unhealthy lifestyle, chances are, you lack antioxidants.

<!--Exfoliating longer. If you want to exfoliate your skin more effectively, do not do it harder, just exfoliate longer than you usually do for you to rid your skin of dead skin cells.

<!--Don’t drink to much. Dermatologists say that drinking too much liquor increases oil production and will also cause your pores to enlarge.

<!--Use hot compress on your pimples. Doing this several times before applying 1% hydrocortisone cream to deflate the bump.

Getting Rid Of Dark Spots

by Sig April 19, 2012 06:30

Having dark spots and blemishes is a tough predicament especially if they are around your mouth. Some men and women are lucky to not have these dark spots but those who do usually do not know how to deal with them.

Taking vitamin E is a good way for you to get rid of dark spots on your skin since this vitamin is a good antioxidant. Taking it with a dose of vitamin C is also a good idea.

Using peeling scrubs is also a good way to exfoliate and get rid of those dark spots. There are a number of home remedies that you can use but you can also opt for a commercial product that you think will work on your skin.

For those who would like to use home remedies or herbal treatments, applying lemon juice on the dark part of the skin is a bright idea. Bleach preparations are also a good solution.

To  know how to combat dark spots, it is best for you to understand them. These spots are pigmentations on the skin caused by melanin and according to medical practitioners can be caused not only by bruising because of acne and other skin conditions but also by stress.

Eating healthy is the way to go but of course one has to wait for a certain period for those nutrients to work on your skin and finally get that glowing skin you want.

Skin experts also say that it is best not to use soap far too much because it dries out the skin. This means that when you have dark spots, it is advised that you moisturize as often as possible.

Intensive moisturizing will help get rid of those dark spots and will give you a healthier glow. Doing all that is mentioned above will help in getting rid of those dark pigmentation on your skin and if you do all these religiously, you would have clear skin in no time.

Skincare on a Dime

by Sig November 03, 2011 07:46

When it comes to beauty products we always think that cost equals quality. This is not true though because often, some products only become expensive because of the hype about it. So there are 2 things you should keep in mind, 1. Expensive beauty products do not always work 2. Popular products do not always work.

So what should one do if this is the case? Worry not because there are many skincare products out there that are sold at the right prices and are also very effective.

Probably the cheapest and most effective skincare product today is Garnier’s Nutrioniste Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam. Allure magazine loves this product because this Garnier skincare solution leaves the skin moisturized unlike other foam cleansers. Another favorite is Olay Complete All Day UV Skin Shield Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15. This one has antioxidants as well as essential vitamins for the skin.

Love make up? So how about make up products? L’Oreal’s True Match Super-Blendable Makeup may be one of the best and the cheapest products one can buy under the make up category. This balances one’s skin tone much like your foundation would. Neutrogena’s concealer 3-in-1 is also a good choice especially if you have fine lines under your eyes. Allure magazine loves this product as well and we love it too. Apart from it being a great addition to your make up kit, you also do not have to pay lots for it. Another favorite among those who want a bargain when it comes to make up is Coty Airspun Face Powder. Other products to take a look at is Almay One Coat Get Up & Grow Mascara, Eco Tools Bamboo 6 Piece Eye Brush Set, e.l.f. Studio Eyeshadow C Brush, Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Instant Definition Eye Shadow Palette and CoverGirl Cheekers Blush.

Younger-Looking Skin Forever

by Sig October 24, 2011 17:18

Aging makes the skin sag but so does dehydration since it reduces the elastin in the dermis. So what should you do about it? First things first, you must hydrate but the question is, what if hydration is not enough?

Laser Skin Resurfacing

This is a suggested procedure that can bring out new skin to the surface through the use of laser technology. It gets rid of wrinkles and helps the skin to keep from sagging. One however must consult with a doctor regarding laser skin resurfacing.

Skin Relies On Water

Alright not just water, but the skin needs it to maintain its elasticity. The reduction of elastin in the skin is inevitable but one can slow down the aging process by taking antioxidants and polyphenols. As this part of the article reiterates though, you need more water. Although scientists haven’t found whether drinking a lot of water on a daily basis will improve the skin’s condition, one has to take into consideration that when you are healthy in the inside, the healthier your skin will be.

Anti-aging Chemicals

Vitamins C and A are the most common antioxidants one can find. You can also eat fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamins A and C.

Detox

Drinking lots of water will only replenish your body’s water needs but detoxifying will get rid of waste inside the body including toxins on the skin. This in effect will make your skin look better and more often than not, clearer and younger-looking.

Follow Marie Antoinette’s Advice

Remember polyphenols? Applying topical solutions with polyphenols will help slow down the aging process. According to certain accounts, Queen Marie Antoinette washed with red wine to prevent wrinkles from appearing.

Excessive Sweating Causes Irritation On The Skin

by Sig October 18, 2011 16:36

Sweating is a normal bodily function but what if you sweat too much?

What is normal?

We all sweat –that is normal and this happens when we are in a rather warm environment or when we are exercising. We also sweat when we are under psychological or physical stress. According to David Pariser, MD a professor in the Dermatology Department at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Virginia, we have about 2 to 4 million sweat glands on the forehead, hands, underarms, face and feet.

Why do some of us sweat more than others?

Some people sweat 4 times more than usual even if in a cool environment. Researchers have not yet seen what causes it but medical professionals think that it has something to do with the connection between the sweat glands and the brain.  This is also genetic since sweating too much also called Hyperhidrosis ru in families.

Treating Excessive Sweating

Talk to a doctor about your problem. More often than not, he or she will give you prescription strength deodorant. Botox injections on certain parts of the skin will also work but of course, you would need to ask your doctor about it if it is a good solution for you.

For more tips, you may want to take a look at Perspire Much? Another article dedicated to excessive sweating and possible solutions.

The Right Antiperspirant

Choosing the right antiperspirant for those with sensitive skin can be difficult but here are a few tips you might want to keep in mind. Look for a deodorant that effectively stops sweat and prevents odor. Do not worry if you haven’t found the right one, you will soon as long as you take a look at the active ingredients of the deodorants available in the market. Deodorants with alcohol content are great to keep you dy but if you have sensitive skin it would be best to use a stick instead of a roll on. Finding a deodorant without fragrance is also ideal because perfumes mixed in deodorants can cause rashes.

Perspire Much?

by Sig October 15, 2011 16:25

If you have a problem with your perspiration i.e. you perspire too much, you might need to take a few things into consideration. If you perspire too much, your skin can be irritated so be sure to read these tips.

Don’t Get Too Spicy

Spicy outfits are fine but limit your consumption of spicy food i.e. curry and hot pepper since these ingredients cause sweating.

Bathe Daily

Alright you can shower. Use a mild cleanser and clean your skin thoroughly. If you start sweating again, you can always bathe or shower again. If you are releasing a rather bothersome odor, it would be best to use antibacterial soap to get rid of bacteria. According to skin care professionals, bacteria mixing with sweat produces odor –usually not very nice odor. Dry off completely too to make sure that no bacteria is left on the skin.

Deodorize

If you do not sweat that much on other parts of your body but sweat a lot in your underarms, it would be best to use a deodorant. Not all deodorants are good for you though so make sure that you find one that works for you best. It would also be good to make sure that the deodorant you are using will not cause dark underarms –you do not really want to create another skin problem while trying to solve your perspiration issues.

Wear The Right Clothes

This  goes beyond looking fashionable because apart from choosing trendy clothes, you should also choose clothes that will allow your skin to breathe. Fabrics such as cotton are a great choice because it slows down moisture build up. Problem with sweat stains? Wear something black or white or a printed ensemble so that the stains are hidden –this however is just a temporary solution to sweat stain. It would be best to get rid of excessive sweating though so you do not have to hide it.
