Anti-Aging Treatments Ingredient list - Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid claims to increase communication among skin cells, telling the cells to start acting younger. Hyaluronic acid holds up to 1000x its' volume in moisture, which gives skin cells volume. Babies have a lot of this acid, which is why their skin is so soft and supple. Hyaluronan acid also ensures cell health by making it easy for proteins and nutrients to travel from cell to cell. As we age, we lose Hyaluronic acid which causes the breakdown of the supports keeping our skin plump and decreases cell communication, thus we begin to sag and wrinkle.

When this Hyaluronic acid is applied directly to the skin in a creme or serum it attracts airborne water vapor and retains water already in the skin, so it's a great moisturizer and slightly plumps the skin. It also stabilizes the extracellular matrix, which is the padding that supports the skin.

Some products that tout this ingredient are Lancome Absolue Premium Bx Replenishing Creme, L'Oreal Paris Skin Genesis Deep Action Night Complex, Biotherm Remineral Replenishing Night Creme, and Vichy Lips and Eyes Skin De-Crumpling Densifying Care. Dermatologist, however, are waiting to support this technology until further research is done.
